OUR PILLARS

LEADERSHIP

The women of Phi Delta Alpha are all leaders at both the university and in their respective cultural communities. Former and current members have held positions in the PLC, AASA, President’s Council, Integrated Business Core, VSA, JSA, MGC, SASE, CAC Soonerthon, and Viet Youth Today. The sorority provides multiple opportunities for active members to grow into confident leaders. Phi Delta Alpha provides yet another vehicle through which our sisters can become leaders from our community and also teaches the valuable and necessary skills of being an active member of a close-knit organization.

SCHOLARSHIP

Academics are extremely important to all the members of Phi Delta Alpha.  Our women shine in the area of academics, as our members have been recognized as PACE Scholars, McNair Scholars, National Merit Scholars, OU Scholars, Advantage Scholars, and Honors students. We have been recognized for our academics within the Multicultural Greek Council and have held the #1 GPA in the council for multiple semesters. Many of our alumnae have gone on to graduate pharmacy, dental, medical, and law schools across the nation.

PHILANTHROPY

Phi Delta Alpha proudly promotes our philanthropy – Lupus Awareness, a project which is dedicated to increasing public knowledge about Lupus and how much it affects women. We strive to raise funds to contribute to a non-profit organization dedicated to continuing lupus research while searching for a cure to end this auto-immune disease. We dedicate at least one community service event to Lupus Awareness in April of every year. In 2015, Phi Delta Alpha fundraised over $7,500 for the Lupus Foundation of Oklahoma.

CULTURAL AWARENESS

Phi Dee encourages its members to learn about their own cultures as well as the cultures of their sisters. We aspire to promote and educate our community about various cultures. We volunteer at a variety of cultural events such as the Vietnamese Student Association's Lunar Moon Festival and Chinese/Vietnamese New Year. We have had several of our sisters showcase their talents and cultures in the Mr. and Miss Asian OU Pageant and the Mr. and Miss Hispanic OU Pagent, and we are proud of our sisters for winning the crown three times.

SISTERHOOD

The main focus of Phi Delta Alpha is developing an everlasting sisterhood.  We are dedicated to forming a “home away from home” for our members. The bonds formed within the sorority will last far beyond the college years. The sisters of Phi Delta Alpha are always there for each other, no matter what the situation is. She is your friend, mentor, and sister. The bonds between the women of Phi Delta Alpha guarantee unconditional support and eternal friendship.
